Agno
Open-source framework and runtime for building multi-agent systems
Agno (formerly Phidata) makes it simple to build AI agents with memory, knowledge, and tools in Python. It focuses on production readiness with built-in support for RAG, structured outputs, and multi-agent teams.
Editor rating is our overall editorial judgment of the tool, out of 5. It is not a test score and not a user-review average. Ratings have not been re-scored since the tool was listed here. The reasons are in Best for and Pros & cons below.
Requires some technical comfort with API keys, command line, or coding. If you're new to AI, start with a chat-based tool first.

Know the new name
Phidata is now called Agno, and its docs and package use the new name. These steps follow the current Agno quickstart.
Install Agno
Run uv add "agno[os,sqlite]" openai, then set your OPENAI_API_KEY. The uv tool installs Python packages quickly.
Run the personal agent
The quickstart builds Pip, an agent that keeps track of your projects, tasks and notes. Run uv run personal_agent.py, and it starts on localhost:7777.
Chat with it in AgentOS
Sign in at os.agno.com, click Connect Existing OS, choose Local and enter localhost:7777. Name it Local AgentOS, connect, and click Chat under Pip.
